Job Description
Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Manager to lead complex Aerospace and Defence projects involving system-level integration, validation, and compliance with industry standards. The ideal candidate should possess technical depth and project leadership experience, with proven expertise in design and development of Automated Test Equipment (ATE), Complex Data Acquisition Systems, and architectural planning. The Project Manager will be responsible for defining system architecture during the requirement gathering phase and leading cross-functional teams throughout the project life cycle.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead complete project execution from concept to delivery for Aerospace and Defense Department.
- Collaborate with stakeholders during requirement gathering to define system architecture and high-level design strategies.
- Coordinate with engineering, design, testing, QA, procurement, and production teams.
- Develop detailed project plans, schedules, cost estimates, and risk management strategies.
- Oversee development and implementation of ATE systems for comprehensive testing.
- Ensure effective validation and integration in alignment with defense and aerospace standards.
- Guide and supervise design activities, ensuring compatibility and performance in final assemblies.
- Ensure strict adherence to industry and customer standards (e.g., AS9100, MIL-STD, DO-178/254).
- Provide regular status updates and reports to internal stakeholders and clients.
Drive issue resolution, manage change control, and conduct post-project reviews for continuous improvement.
Key Result Areas (KRAs):
- Architecture Definition Accurate and complete system architecture during early project phases.
- On-time Delivery Completion of projects as per defined timelines.
- Cost Efficiency Delivering within approved budget limits.
- Quality & Compliance Meeting or exceeding aerospace/defense quality standards.
- Customer Satisfaction Positive engagement and feedback from clients.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
- Timeliness and completeness of architecture definition
- % of projects completed on time and within budget
- Number of successful Automated Test Equipment (ATE) testing cycles
- First-pass success rate in harness integration
- Customer satisfaction score / NPS
- Audit compliance score and non-conformity resolution time
Requirements:
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Aerospace, Electronics, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering.
- PMP / PRINCE2 certification preferred.
- 710 years of project management experience, with 3+ years in Aerospace or Defence projects.
- Proven experience in defining system architecture during requirement gathering.
- Hands-on experience with Automated Test Equipment testing.
- Strong knowledge of harness design, routing, and integration.
- Familiarity with industry standards and defence protocols (AS9100, MIL-STD, DO-254, DO-178, etc.).
- Proficiency in project management tools (MS Project, Jira, etc.).
- Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with defence procurement and government project execution.
- Understanding of embedded systems, RF systems, and simulation environments.
- Exposure to DRDO, HAL, BEL, or similar defence organizations.
- Strong technical documentation and reporting skills for audits and certifications.
