Role Responsibilities Lead the design, development, and implementation of mainframe application solutions. Oversee the full software development lifecycle for mainframe systems. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features. Analyze and improve system performance by fine-tuning existing applications. Manage and mentor a team of developers, fostering a culture of continuous learning. Develop and maintain technical documentation for all new and existing systems. Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to industry best practices. Participate in Agile ceremonies, ensuring clear communication and deliverable tracking. Resolve technical issues and provide guidance on best practices in mainframe technology. Implement solutions that enhance system reliability and maintainability. Stay up to date with emerging technologies and offer recommendations for improvements. Oversee the integration of new software into existing mainframe applications. Work closely with stakeholders to gather and analyze functional requirements. Perform rigorous testing and debugging of software applications. Assist in project planning and resource allocation for software development tasks. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Minimum 5 years of professional experience in mainframe development. Strong proficiency in Cobol and JCL scripting. Experience with DB2 and RPG programming highly desirable. Proven experience in leading development teams. In-depth knowledge of mainframe architecture and performance tuning. Familiarity with Agile development methodologies. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. Strong communication and interpersonal abilities. Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment. Detail-oriented with a focus on quality and efficiency. Experience in software development lifecycle best practices. Knowledge of security best practices in mainframe environments. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Certification in relevant technologies is a plus.
