Facilitate all standard Scrum ceremonies (Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Reviews, Retrospectives) while ensuring alignment with SAFe cadence (PI Planning, System Demos, Inspect & Adapt).
Coach the team on Agile principles, Scrum practices, and SAFe Core Values (alignment, built-in quality, transparency, program execution).
Drive adherence to Definition of Ready (DoR) and Definition of Done (DoD) for high-quality, predictable delivery.
Promote team ownership, accountability, and self-organization.
SAFe-Specific Responsibilities:
Actively participate in Program Increment (PI) Planning, representing the teams capacity and objectives, and supporting dependency identification and risk mitigation.
Collaborate with Product Owners, RTEs, and other Scrum Masters to ensure alignment across the Agile Release Train (ART).
Help the team understand their role in the larger ART context and support the execution of ART commitments.
Support the Team and ART-level Inspect & Adapt workshops, facilitating root cause analysis and continuous improvement actions.
Ensure tracking and communication of team-level progress toward PI Objectives, escalating risks and blockers as needed.
Project Management & Agile Metrics:
Support project delivery with light project management oversightscope, timelines, risks, interdependenciesespecially in regulated environments like med-tech.
Define, track, and analyze Agile metrics to drive transparency and continuous improvement, including:
Team Velocity
Sprint and PI Burndown
Cumulative Flow Diagrams
Say/Do Ratio
Lead/Cycle Time
Team Predictability Metrics
Use tools such as Jira, Confluence, Jira Align, or equivalent to monitor work, metrics, and dependencies.
Foster a culture of relentless improvement by facilitating retrospectives and improvement backlogs.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Healthcare Technology, Business, or related field.
4+ years of experience as a Scrum Master in Agile environments.
2+ years working in a SAFe or scaled Agile environment (e.g., involvement in ARTs, PI Planning, Inspect & Adapt).
Strong working knowledge of Agile and Lean principles and experience coaching teams to Agile maturity.
Understanding of project tracking and delivery in regulated domains such as healthcare, medical devices, or med-tech (HIPAA, FDA, QMS, etc.).
Hands-on experience using Jira, Confluence, and preferably some BI tools or equivalent Agile tools.
SAFe Agilist (SA) or SAFe Release Train Engineer (RTE) nice to have
PMP, PMI-ACP, or Agile Coaching certifications (ICP-ACC) are a plus
