Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Hydraulic Design Manager to lead the design, development, and validation of hydraulic systems for our tractor and agricultural machinery product lines. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of hydraulic system design, strong leadership skills, and a background in off-highway or mobile machinery industries.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the design and development of hydraulic systems including pumps, valves, cylinders, hoses, and fittings for tractors and related implements.
Define and execute hydraulic architecture strategies aligned with product performance, reliability, cost, and manufacturability goals.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including mechanical, electrical, vehicle integration, manufacturing, and procurement.
Supervise and mentor a team of hydraulic engineers and designers; manage workloads and priorities.
Review and approve hydraulic schematics, system layouts, and detailed component designs.
Lead design reviews, DFMEA/PFMEA processes, and root cause analysis for field issues.
Interface with suppliers and oversee validation testing (bench, field, endurance).
Ensure designs comply with relevant industry standards (ISO, SAE) and regulatory requirements.
Support the development of service and maintenance documentation.
Stay current with hydraulic technology trends, new components, and best practices.
Qualifications & Skills:
Bachelors or Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering, Fluid Power Engineering, or related field.
Minimum 815 years of experience in hydraulic system design; at least 3 years in a leadership or managerial role.
Strong knowledge of mobile hydraulics, closed/open center systems, load-sensing hydraulics, and electro-hydraulic controls.
Familiarity with design tools like SolidWorks/Creo, AutoCAD, and hydraulic simulation software (e.g., Amesim, Simcenter, or Automation Studio).
Experience in the agricultural, construction, or off-road equipment industry is highly preferred.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication, team leadership, and project management abilities.
