Electrical Engineer @ SFO Technologies

Job Description

Job Summary:

We are looking for a skilled Electrical Design Engineer with proven experience in designing control panels and creating detailed electrical schematics for special purpose machines (SPMs). The ideal candidate should be well-versed in industrial automation standards and capable of taking ownership of the complete electrical design cyclefrom concept to commissioning.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design electrical control panels and prepare detailed schematic drawings for SPMs using CAD software.
• Develop and manage electrical BOMs (Bill of Materials), panel layouts, wiring diagrams, and cable routing plans.
• Select appropriate components (relays, breakers, contactors, drives, PLCs, safety devices) as per system requirements.
• Collaborate with mechanical, controls, and manufacturing teams to ensure integration and build feasibility.
• Ensure compliance with industry and safety standards (such as IEC, UL, CE marking, etc.).
• Coordinate with panel builders, supervise wiring practices, and perform quality checks during panel assembly.
• Provide technical support during panel testing, installation, and machine commissioning.
• Maintain and update documentation, including as-built drawings and design revisions.
• Optimize electrical design for cost, efficiency, and reliability.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Minimum 2 years of experience in electrical design for industrial automation or special purpose machine projects.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, CAPITAL or similar electrical CAD software.
• Strong knowledge of electrical standards, component sizing, and machine safety (e.g., SIL, PL).
• Experience in designing both power and control circuits, including integration with PLCs, HMIs, drives, and sensors.
