Sr. Database Engineer For US shift (Eastern Time - complete Work from) @ TEOCO

Job Description

Position: Sr. Database Engineer US shift (Eastern Time)

Location: Kolkata or Bangalore

Full time permanent position

US shift (Eastern Time) : 6PM to 3AM IST (complete work from home)

Experience required: 6-8+ years

Major skills required: very Strong in Advance SQL, C# or Python (mid-level), any ETL tool

Product Development:

• Work with the business analysts to understand the high level business need and requirements;
• Work with operation team to understand issues and provide step-by-step solutions;
• Implement business logic using SQL;
• Monitor the system for any issues and quickly respond to emergencies;
• Deep detailed understanding of internal ETL tool;
• Prepare product for the release and drive the process;
• Proficiency in query optimization (understanding query plans, improving execution time etc.);
• Write scripts using internal code language (C# based) in order to optimize the process;
• Understand the overall process and data flows;

Perform detailed analysis of the code and do research to help analysts understand current situation and make a decision.

Experience and required skills:

• Strong understanding of relational databases;
• Must have Advanced Strong SQL knowledge is required;
• Working experience with MPP (MPP Massively Parallel Processing) Databases, understanding database design (data distribution, partitioning etc.);
• Medium Linux knowledge is required;
• C# or Python mid-level;
• Experience with analytic reporting tools such as SAP Business Object is preferred;
• Ability to work in a multi-cultured team environment;
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
