Job Description
- The Applications Development Intermediate Programmer Analyst position is an intermediate level role where you will be responsible for participating in the establishment and implementation of new or revised application systems and programs in coordination with the Technology team. Your main objective will be to contribute to applications systems analysis and programming activities. Your responsibilities will include utilizing your knowledge of applications development procedures and concepts, as well as basic knowledge of other technical areas to identify and define necessary system enhancements. You will consult with users, clients, and other technology groups on issues, recommend programming solutions, install and support customer exposure systems, and apply fundamental knowledge of programming languages for design specifications. Additionally, you will analyze applications to identify vulnerabilities and security issues, conduct testing and debugging, and serve as an advisor or coach to new or lower level analysts. You will be expected to identify problems, analyze information, and make evaluative judgments to recommend and implement solutions. Having the ability to operate with a limited level of direct supervision, you must exercise independence of judgment and autonomy. You will also act as a Subject Matter Expert to senior stakeholders and/or other team members. It is important to appropriately assess risk when making business decisions, demonstrating consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients, and assets by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations. Qualifications for this position include having 2-5 years of relevant experience in the Financial Service industry, intermediate level experience in an Applications Development role, clear and concise written and verbal communication skills, demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making abilities, and the capability to work under pressure and manage deadlines or unexpected changes in expectations or requirements. A Bachelor's degree/University degree or equivalent experience is required. In addition to the above, the ideal candidate should have good hands-on experience with Python / Pyspark programming, working on Agile teams, and experience with Oracle and Big Data - Hive SQL's.
