Senior Java Backend Developer @ Altimetrik

Job Description

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Senior Java Backend Developer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Java development, with proven expertise in building scalable, high-performance microservices-based applications using Spring Boot.

This role requires excellent problem-solving skills, a passion for clean code, and a deep understanding of backend system design principles.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain robust, scalable, and efficient microservices using Java, Spring Boot, and related technologies.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including front-end developers, QA, DevOps, and product owners to deliver high-quality software solutions.
• Participate in the complete software development lifecycle: requirement gathering, design, coding, testing, deployment, and support.
• Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability.
• Ensure code quality, maintainability, and adherence to best practices through code reviews and unit testing.
• Implement and manage API integrations and third-party services.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues in production and non-production environments.
• Contribute to continuous improvement by exploring alternative technologies and approaches.

Technical Skills & Qualifications:

• 6+ years of hands-on experience in Java backend development.
• Strong expertise in Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Security, Spring Data JPA/Hibernate.
• Extensive experience in Microservices architecture and design patterns.
• Good understanding of RESTful API design and development.
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, etc.)
• Knowledge of message brokers (Kafka, RabbitMQ) is a plus.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools like Jenkins, Git, Docker.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) is advantageous.
• Strong debugging and performance tuning skills.
• Solid understanding of software engineering principles, design patterns, and best practices.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving abilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with containerization and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Exposure to agile development methodologies (Scrum, Kanban).
• Working knowledge of API documentation tools like Swagger/OpenAPI.

Educational Qualification:

• Bachelors degree in Engineering or Masters degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
