As a Project Engineering Manager at Assystem, your objective will be to ensure that engineering activities of the project are completed within the specified time frame in terms of both quality and cost. You will be responsible for maintaining adherence to the project schedule, working on optimizations and proposing alternate solutions for efficient project delivery with a positive margin. Inter-discipline coordination, work allocation, and man-hours allocation will also be part of your responsibilities. Key responsibilities include having expertise in primary and secondary engineering for substation projects, particularly in design aspects of GIS/AIS substations up to 765 KV. You will coordinate with the Project Planning Manager to align deliveries with the project schedule, conduct regular project review meetings, and optimize resource allocation for enhanced productivity. Reviewing designs, calculations, and drawings, ensuring timely material deliveries, and multitasking to deliver multiple tasks on time are crucial aspects of your role. Additionally, you will be involved in clarification of issues with vendors, enabling accurate estimation for Bill of Materials submissions, overseeing BIM implementation in projects, settling procurement issues, and managing a team of Design Leads, Design Engineers, and Draughtspersons. Supporting site execution teams, leading vendor evaluations, facilitating communication with suppliers, and obtaining resource requirements for projects are also part of your responsibilities. To qualify for this position, you should hold a B.E. / B. Tech. in Electrical / Electrical & Electronics Engineering. Technical expertise required includes a thorough understanding of primary and secondary engineering for substation projects, proficiency in selecting equipment, knowledge of substation primary and secondary design, and familiarity with interfaces between Civil, MEP & Instrumentation. You should also have a detailed understanding of project execution for different geographies/clients/utilities and interpret contractual technical requirements effectively. Your operating network will include internal stakeholders such as the Head of Engineering, Inter-discipline Heads, Project Execution team, Supply Chain Management team, Quality team, and Contracts team. Externally, you will engage with customers (Engineering team), clients (Project Management team), and vendors (Engineering & Quality team).
