Job Description
- As a Software Tester / QA Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and functionality of software applications. Your responsibilities will include designing, developing, and executing manual and automated test cases. You will collaborate with developers, product managers, and stakeholders to maintain quality standards throughout the software development lifecycle. Your duties will involve identifying, recording, and tracking defects using issue tracking tools like Jira and Bugzilla. You will conduct various types of testing such as regression, functional, integration, system, and acceptance testing. Additionally, you will perform performance and load testing to validate software stability under different conditions. You will be expected to review system requirements and technical documentation to ensure accuracy in testing. Reporting on testing progress, defects, and test results will be essential, providing detailed feedback to the development team. Root cause analysis of defects and recommending solutions for improvement will also be part of your role. To qualify for this position, you should hold a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field. Previous experience as a Software Tester or QA Engineer is required, along with a solid understanding of the software development lifecycle. Proficiency in test case design, execution, and bug tracking is necessary, along with familiarity with testing tools such as Selenium, JUnit, TestNG, or Postman. Hands-on experience in manual testing and the ability to create test scripts are essential. Basic knowledge of programming/scripting languages like Java, Python, or JavaScript would be advantageous. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment are key attributes for this role. Effective collaboration with cross-functional teams and excellent written and verbal communication skills are also important. Preferred skills include experience in performance, load, and stress testing, familiarity with CI/CD processes and tools, and knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies. Possession of ISTQB certification would be a plus.
