Job Description
- As a Senior AWS Cloud Engineer (Infra) at Hitachi Digital, you will play a crucial role in overseeing and managing our AWS infrastructure. Your responsibilities will include the day-to-day administration of our cloud environments, ensuring account management, security, permissions, cost optimization, and operational monitoring. You will be instrumental in maintaining secure, compliant, cost-efficient, and industry best practice-aligned AWS platforms. We are looking for a hands-on professional with a strong technical background and a proactive attitude towards enhancing our cloud systems. Key Responsibilities: - Manage and maintain AWS environments, including account setup, IAM policies, and security controls. - Implement cloud governance, cost management, and compliance best practices. - Monitor workloads for availability, performance, and budget alignment, identifying and resolving inefficiencies proactively. - Collaborate with teams to provision resources and troubleshoot cloud-related issues. - Support application teams with infrastructure needs, deployments, and scaling strategies. - Automate repetitive tasks using Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, CloudFormation) and scripting. - Stay updated with AWS offerings and suggest improvements or new services where applicable. Required Qualifications: - Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. - 5+ years of hands-on experience managing AWS infrastructure in production environments. - Strong skills with core AWS services like EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, VPC, IAM, CloudWatch, etc. - Proficiency in networking, security best practices, and access management within AWS. - Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform or CloudFormation) and scripting (Python, Bash, or similar). - Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab, CodePipeline) to support deployment processes. - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication, and teamwork abilities. Nice to have (not required): - AWS Certifications (e.g., Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer, Security Specialty). - Experience with cost optimization tools or FinOps practices.
