Job Description

Job Summary:

The Finance & Operations Portfolio Manager/Analyst is responsible for monitoring financial performance and operational efficiency across multiple businesses or investment portfolios. This role involves strategic financial analysis, budgeting, and process optimisation to support well-informed decision-making and promote business growth.

Key Responsibilities:

Portfolio Financial Analysis

  • Monitor and evaluate the financial health of group businesses or investment portfolios
  • Conduct ROI, ROCE, EBITDA margin, and working capital analysis
  • Analyse budget vs actuals, profitability, and performance of ongoing business activities
  • Provide investment performance reviews, including capital allocation insights
  • Consolidate financial reports across multiple business units or entities

Operational Controls & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with internal investment policies and regulatory guidelines
  • Liaise with custodians, banks, brokers, fund managers, and legal teams
  • Conduct periodic audits of investment records and implement process improvements
  • Track adherence to tax, accounting, and regulatory reporting requirements

Reporting & Strategic Decision Support

  • Build dashboards and MIS reports for executive leadership and board reviews
  • Create financial models, scenario planning, and risk assessments
  • Prepare consolidated performance summaries across group businesses or verticals

Budgeting & Forecasting

  • Support the preparation of annual budgets, quarterly forecasts, and strategic financial plans.
  • Integrate operational data into financial models to improve accuracy.
  • Analyse variances and provide actionable insights to leadership.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Liaise with internal departments, external consultants, auditors, and investors
  • Support M&A evaluations, project feasibility, and due diligence processes
  • Provide insights on expansion opportunities and underperforming segments

Cross-functional Reporting

  • Develop dashboards and reports for management on financial health, cash flows, cost centres, and operational metrics.
  • Present portfolio summaries to senior leadership for decision-making.
