Job Description

    You will be responsible for supporting the implementation of employee relations strategies and programs to ensure legal compliance, harmonious employee relations, and effective management of external stakeholders. This will enable smooth operations, productivity, and alignment with business objectives while addressing ongoing Group and Unit queries on all ER-related operational issues. Your key result areas will include implementing ER policies and operational plans for the business based on guidelines from the Group, as well as supporting the implementation of ER strategy at the business level and guiding the units in short to medium-term aspects of the ER strategy. You will also be involved in supporting Brownfield and Greenfield related initiatives by addressing business people & environment bottlenecks and planning/implementing steps to handle them. Additionally, you will ensure productive and harmonious employee relations by implementing business strategy, policies, frameworks, and processes for employee relations including wage settlement, welfare, grievance management, contract labor management, and labor union management. You will update existing systems and processes to align with the latest changes in legislation and support Unit HR in developing and implementing ER-related policies and processes at the Unit level. Being the Subject Matter Expert within the business for ER & Welfare, you will act as the SME for relevant portfolios and provide necessary consulting, problem-solving, solutions & services to line managers/unit HR. You will also continuously scan markets & environments to spot emerging trends and provide relevant inputs in existing processes. Furthermore, you will build capabilities and train line & HR managers in relevant portfolios to improve the quality of output. You will implement Group ER policies & guidelines at the business & unit level, facilitate the implementation of uniform quality processes across all units, and align business level practices with GCOE on an ongoing basis. In terms of Contract Management, Union Management, and Wage Settlements, you will design policies, frameworks, and guidelines for contract management, union management, and wage settlements for the Business and Units basis the group guidelines, and guide the Unit HR on implementation. Moreover, you will design policies, frameworks, and guidelines for dispute resolution and grievance management for the Business and Units basis the group guidelines, guide the Unit HR in designing and implementing policies and processes for dispute resolution and grievance management in the units. You will also take an inventory of broad line statutory compliances & legal matters across Units, initiate internal audits & corrective actions/improvements, provide updates on the latest amendments impacting statutory compliances, and assess the ER Index with Unit Head & Unit HR Head to take action in monthly Union Meetings. Lastly, you will be responsible for building the capability of line managers & front line HR team through customized workshops involving internal and external experts and monitoring the Staff & Workmen Learning & Development activities while utilizing the Workers Board of Education.,
