Job Description
- As an Assistant General Manager at Birla Carbon in Andhra Pradesh, India, your primary responsibility is to provide HR leadership to the Greenfield Unit. You will be in charge of implementing and institutionalizing all basic HR services and processes while focusing on employee engagement through talent management, training and development, and employee wellness initiatives to enhance quality of life. Additionally, you will play a key role in maintaining productive and harmonious industrial relations by educating workmen and involving employees to achieve optimum productivity. Your role also involves providing direction and executing Corporate Social Responsibility Plans. Your accountability in this role includes preparing HR plans for the Unit, coordinating and implementing all people processes, and developing appropriate HR plans aligned with the Unit's strategy. You will be responsible for recruiting talented personnel, reviewing manpower requirements, and ensuring the selection and onboarding of the right individuals based on hiring needs. Furthermore, you will design, organize, and conduct training programs, identify training needs through skills gaps analysis, and administer training activities in line with the Training Calendar. In terms of talent management, you will plan, organize, and implement activities to recognize and develop employee talents through continuous monitoring and review. This includes planning talent management activities, supporting the development of Individual Development Plans (IDPs), driving employee movements, and creating succession plans. You will also assist in the preparation of organization structure, amendments, and manpower rationalization, as well as in planning and coordinating job analysis for all staff categories to improve teamwork and productivity. Performance management, establishment, and compensation processes will also fall under your purview, ensuring timely implementation and training on performance management systems and processes. Maintaining peaceful and harmonious relations with workmen is crucial in this role, requiring regular interactions with unions, handling grievances, and facilitating understanding and settlements including Voluntary Retirement Schemes (VRS) when necessary. You will also be responsible for disciplinary actions wherever required. Your role extends to organization development by aligning people processes with Group values, driving communication initiatives, implementing policies and processes to create a positive work environment, and fostering value orientation within the unit. Additionally, you will lead key reward and recognition programs to motivate employees and enhance performance. To qualify for this position, you should have a post-graduate degree and a minimum of 8-15 years of relevant experience. Reporting to the Manager, you will play a pivotal role in driving HR initiatives and fostering a productive and harmonious work environment at Birla Carbon.,
