Associate Software Engineering Manager - Big @ Optum A UnitedHealth

Job Description

Primary Responsibilities:

• Reusable component development (viz, Joblets, routines, template jobs, etc.)
• Follow established standard practices
• Translate the business requirement into the ETL, ELT tasks/jobs
• Deployment and production support
• Agile practices
• Implementation of CI/CD pipelines
• Data quality implementation
• Web services and automation
• Automated test driven development for ETL and Big Data jobs
• Lead and mentor team of developers and testers

Required Qualifications:

• Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience
• 10 years of substantial experience in Java, Big Data development and minimum of 3+ years in the role of Tech Lead
• Exposure and experience on reporting platform
• Exposure and experience in multiple database technologies
• Exposure to Machine Learning and Data Science
• Proven track record in the development of multiple projects and leading teams
• Strong programming knowledge in Unix, Hive, Hbase, Kafka, Java, Scala, etc.
• Strong working knowledge in CICD, DevOps areas
• Developed at least few frameworks in earlier projects

Preferred Qualification:

• Multiple Big Data tools knowledge
