Role & responsibilities

As a Production or Manufacturing Manager at our hydraulic cylinder manufacturing facility in Hyderabad, India, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the production process, ensuring efficient and timely manufacturing of high-quality cylinder components & cylinders while meeting safety and quality standards. Your responsibilities will include - production planning, quality control, inventory management, staff supervision, continuous improvement of processes, implementing the requirements of the IATF 16949 Standard, constantly innovating on small process improvements to reduce cycle times, waste and reduction of costs of manufacturing various components of the Hydraulic cylinder to meet with the delivery times of the customers. Further, you will have to plan and modernise the facilities to reduce manpower by simple automation and multi skilling of shop floor human resources and other required shop floor improvements like material movement and storage solutions, colour coding for open visibility of order executions, display of requisite information on production of components in each specific line and their related efficiencies and costs matched to the Budget of the division and corporate goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Production Planning and Scheduling:

Developing and implementing thorough production plans and schedules in micro details to effectively meet customer orders and deadlines, ensuring cost efficient use of resources and materials.

  • Quality Control:

Implementing and maintaining quality control programs to ensure that all hydraulic cylinders meet the required standards and specifications.

  • Inventory Management:

Managing raw materials, components, and finished goods inventory to optimize stock levels and minimize waste.

  • Staff Management and Training:

Supervising production staff, assigning tasks, providing training, and evaluating performance to ensure a skilled and productive workforce that is highly responsive to customer needs and in the most cost-efficient manner thus keeping manufacturing costs under control so as to be competitive in the market.

  • Process Optimization:

Identifying areas for improvement in the production process, implementing changes to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and minimize downtime.

  • Safety Management:

Ensuring a safe working environment for all employees, implementing safety procedures, and conducting regular safety checks.

  • Reporting and Communication:

Providing regular updates on production progress, performance, and issues to senior management and other relevant stakeholders.

  • Cost Management:

Monitoring and controlling production costs to ensure that the company meets its financial targets.

  • Supplier Relationship Management:

Working with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of quality materials and components.

  • Equipment Maintenance:

Overseeing the maintenance and repair of production equipment to minimize downtime and ensure efficient operation.

  • Technical Expertise:

A strong understanding of hydraulic cylinder manufacturing processes, including machining, assembly, testing, and quality control.

  • Production Management Principles:

Knowledge of Just in Time Production Planning, Scheduling, inventory management, and quality control methodologies.

  • Problem-Solving Skills:

The ability to identify and resolve production issues, troubleshoot equipment problems, and implement corrective actions.

  • Leadership and Communication Skills:

The ability to motivate and manage a team, communicate effectively with stakeholders, and present information clearly.

  • Data Analysis:

The ability to analyse production data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions to improve efficiency and performance.

  • Safety Awareness:

A strong commitment to workplace safety and the ability to implement and enforce safety procedures.

Preferred candidate profile

Age: 28 35 years

Qualifications: Graduate or Post Graduate Degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering

Experience: 7 - 10+ years in a large volume Precision Auto Components Manufacturing Environment

CTC/Year: Rs. 7.5 to 15L/year. Additionally, you can opt for productivity linked incentives/bonuses on achievement of budgets and goals.
