The Opportunity: Agoda is seeking developers to optimize user interfaces that enhance the experience of millions of travelers globally. This role requires a deep understanding of front-end development principles, a dedication to crafting exceptional user experiences, and expertise in various front-end technologies. As a part of our team, you will have the opportunity to work on innovative projects, utilize cutting-edge technologies, and drive significant impact on our business and the travel industry. In this role, you will be responsible for: - Architecting and developing high-performance, cross-platform web applications - Leading the design and implementation of Backend-for-Frontend (BFF) services - Establishing and enforcing best practices for front-end testing and quality assurance - Driving initiatives to optimize Core Web Vitals and overall application performance - Owning a significant portion of Agoda's system from the overarching vision to the bytecode level - Facilitating collaboration and cross-team projects to enhance the quality of our services, code, and architecture - Providing constructive feedback, fostering an inclusive engineering environment, and championing engineering fundamentals to bring out the best in fellow engineers - Identifying and implementing optimization opportunities across the technology stack with a focus on cost, efficiency, velocity, and developer satisfaction - Demonstrating technical leadership across the organization by communicating complex technical trade-offs to non-technical stakeholders such as business owners and C-suite executives What you'll Need to Succeed: To succeed in this role, you should have: - Over 10 years of experience in engineering roles - Proven hands-on experience in owning production services with a significant impact on design, development, deployment, monitoring, and evolution - Curiosity and a commitment to staying abreast of technological advancements and open-source innovations - Advanced proficiency in modern JavaScript frameworks and state management solutions - Deep understanding of cross-platform development challenges and solutions - Extensive experience with Backend-for-Frontend (BFF) patterns and micro-frontend architecture - Expert-level knowledge of front-end testing methodologies, tools, and best practices - A proven track record of optimizing applications for Core Web Vitals and web performance - Strong understanding of web security, accessibility standards, and SEO best practices - The ability to conduct in-depth research and make decisions on complex projects, working both independently and collaboratively - Strong communication skills, with the capability to explain complex technical details to stakeholders at all levels - A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field It's great if you have: - A Master's or Ph.D. in a technical field - Deep understanding of React and state managers (Redux, Zustand, Valtio) - Experience with C# and .Net Core - Experience with Kotlin or other JVM languages Location: This position is based in Bangkok, Thailand (Relocation Provided).
