Job Description
- You will be leading the digital engineering office of chief engineers at Eaton India Innovation Center in Pune. Your main responsibilities will involve focusing on three key skill areas: digital engineering, design for six sigma, and design for reliability. You will be required to develop strategies, drive technology advancements, foster innovation, and establish external connections in alignment with business needs. Your role will also include leading the execution of high complexity programs, making critical decisions on research, development, and sustaining engineering, and providing governance to drive synergies across different business units. Additionally, you will be responsible for developing training materials for green belt and black belt programs, conducting DfSS trainings globally, upgrading existing methodologies/tools, and providing expert guidance on various technical areas such as quality function deployment, product design scorecard, design optimization, reliability, statistics, etc. You will also participate in the global DfSS council to represent the voice of technical experts. Collaboration with product engineering, supply chain, manufacturing, and program management leaders to achieve strategic objectives will be a key aspect of your role. You will provide technical guidance, supervise functional work, and offer technical approvals for projects undertaken by technical experts. Building positive working relationships with stakeholders and cross-functional teams to facilitate open dialogue and trust building will be essential. Emphasis should be placed on standardizing processes and practices to engineer secure, future-proof, optimized solutions while enhancing efficiency and productivity in a data-driven framework. You will be expected to support the overall global strategy for processes and capabilities, initiate and implement process improvements, promote a professional work environment, drive a culture of analysis first, maintain effective communication with stakeholders, and participate in external conferences to understand market insights and regulatory trends. Collaboration with product line leaders to translate current and future requirements into compelling simulation methodologies, increasing the impact of digital engineering during product development, setting goals for technical leadership, driving technical talent development, ensuring efficient resource utilization, and performing quality checks to meet Eaton and customer standards will be part of your responsibilities. Qualifications: - Masters or PhD in mechanical or electrical engineering - 15+ years of experience, preferably in digital engineering and engineering functional excellence Skills: - Expertise in digital engineering, design for six sigma, design for reliability - Ability to coach and guide technical experts - In-depth understanding of technology trends - Proficiency in relevant software tools and methods - Strong communication skills - Conflict management, ambiguity, and change management skills,
