Job Description
- As a QA Automation Engineer (Java & Selenium) based in Pune, India, you should possess over 7 years of hands-on experience in Java and Selenium for automation testing. Your expertise should include developing automated test frameworks, writing test cases for various testing types such as UI, web service API, functional, and performance/load testing. With at least 5 years of experience in Selenium and Cucumber, you should be well-versed in API testing using tools like Rest Assured, HTTPClient, and Karate. Proficiency in using TestNG for creating and running test scripts is essential, along with expertise in testing SQL and NoSQL databases like Oracle, MongoDB, and PostgreSQL. Your role will also involve testing cloud architectures, CI/CD processes using Jenkins, defect tracking and test management with JIRA, and manual testing for comprehensive test coverage. Additionally, experience in object-oriented testing, Selenium WebDriver, version control with GIT, and familiarity with file transfer tools like Putty and WinScp is beneficial. You should be comfortable testing on various browsers like Chrome, Firefox, and Internet Explorer and have experience with cloud-native applications and architectures. Understanding QA methodologies, test processes, and best practices in software quality assurance is crucial for this role. In terms of responsibilities, you will collaborate with the scrum team to identify testing needs and opportunities for automation, define a comprehensive testing strategy with the QA team, develop and execute automated test scripts using Selenium and Cucumber, conduct technical reviews, report defects or issues to stakeholders, and ensure proper communication and coordination throughout the testing lifecycle. To qualify for this role, you should hold a BS degree or higher in Computer Science or a related technical field with coding experience. Strong verbal and written communication skills are required to effectively communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders. Hands-on experience with JIRA for defect tracking, cross-browser testing, and knowledge of database tools like Oracle, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, and SQL Developer are also necessary.
