Job Description
- As a System Design Engineer at Siemens Energy, you will play a crucial role in laying the theoretical foundation for HVDC systems and developing technically optimized solutions to meet the challenges of the energy transition. Your daily tasks will be diverse and unique, as each HVDC project presents its own set of complexities. Your responsibilities will include conducting detailed design calculations using analytical or simulation methods, collaborating with various teams within Siemens Energy to find the best solutions for customers, and presenting design study results to clients. You may also need to verify these results through measurements and tests, ensuring the highest level of quality and performance. Moreover, you will have the opportunity to foster cross-team collaboration within the HVDC domain through activities such as training, workshops, continuous improvement initiatives, and digitalization efforts. Your impact will be significant in areas such as main circuit parameters, transient stress, insulation coordination, electrical interference studies, reliability analysis, and more. To excel in this role, you should possess expertise in tools like PSCAD, MATLAB, and GIT, with prior experience in HVDC - LCC projects being a valuable asset. Your ability to innovate, develop new techniques, collaborate effectively with global teams, and adapt to changing situations will be key to success. A minimum of 15 years of experience and a qualification in B.E. / B.Tech / M. Tech - Electrical with a specialization in power systems are required.
