General Manager Sales
We are looking for a visionary and strategic General Manager Sales to lead and oversee the overall performance, growth, and operations of our sales division. The GM Sales will be responsible for aligning business objectives with sales strategies, building high-performing teams, ensuring customer satisfaction, and driving revenue growth. This role demands a strong leader who can manage large teams, work cross-functionally, and ensure operational excellence at all levels.
Key Responsibilities
1. Sales Strategy & Performance Management
- Define and implement comprehensive sales strategies aligned with organizational goals.
- Oversee sales planning, forecasting, and target setting for Sales Managers and Team Leaders.
- Drive performance metrics, ensuring teams consistently exceed sales goals.
2. Leadership & Team Development
- Lead, mentor, and manage multiple levels of the sales hierarchy including Sales Team Managers, Team Leaders, and Sales Executives.
- Establish a culture of high performance, accountability, and continuous learning.
- Implement leadership development and succession planning programs.
3. Training Oversight & Skill Enhancement
- Ensure all teams are provided with relevant and timely training through the platform.
- Oversee the regular update and accuracy of training materials.
- Collaborate with HR and L&D for skill enhancement initiatives across the sales function.
4. Customer Experience & Retention
- Set the standard for customer satisfaction and retention metrics.
- Monitor escalation management, ensuring resolution within 12 hours.
- Design strategies to reduce customer churn and increase lifetime value.
5. Operational Excellence & Compliance
- Ensure all sales operations are aligned with company SOPs and compliance standards.
- Streamline sales processes, remove inefficiencies, and implement best practices.
- Oversee reporting, data analytics, and business insights for continuous improvement.
6. Incentive Policy Implementation
- Define and approve performance-based incentive structures for all sales roles.
- Ensure incentives are aligned with business goals and employee motivation.
- Track incentive effectiveness and adjust policies as needed.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelors degree in Business, Sales, or a related field (MBA preferred).
- 8+ years of experience in sales leadership roles, with at least 3 years as a senior manager or general manager.
- Proven track record of scaling sales operations and leading large teams.
- Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal abilities.
- Proficient in sales CRM systems, ticketing platforms, and reporting tools.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Achievement of overall business sales targets.
- Customer satisfaction ratings consistently above 4.
- Escalation resolution within 12 hours across teams.
- Attrition rates within acceptable benchmarks.
- Timely and effective training delivery across teams.
- Effective incentive utilization and team motivation.
- Sales process compliance and audit adherence.
