Job Title: General Manager - New Venues Business
Location: Mumbai / Delhi (Pan-India Coverage)
Department: Business Development New Vertical
Reports To: MD

About the Role:

We are launching a new vertical focused on the venues and events industry targeting banquet halls, convention centers, resorts, wedding venues, and similar partners across India. This GM-level position will spearhead the initiative end-to-end, from strategy to execution, building a nationwide network of venue partners and driving revenue through music licensing and brand alliances.

Key Responsibilities:

  • New Vertical Launch & Leadership:
    Own and execute the GTM strategy for the new venues vertical. Define objectives, scope, and operational model for pan-India rollout.
  • Business Development:
    Identify and onboard venue partners such as banquet halls, convention centers, wedding resorts, and event spaces where public performance licensing is required.
  • Strategic Partnerships:
    Build and manage high-impact partnerships with event managers, wedding planners, hotel chains, and venue aggregators.
  • Team Building & Leadership:
    Build a high-performing business development team across major metros. Coach, mentor, and drive performance through KPIs.
  • Revenue Ownership:
    Deliver on monthly and annual sales targets for venue licensing. Track collections, close deals, and ensure compliance with licensing norms.
  • Market Intelligence & Positioning:
    Monitor industry trends, competitor moves, and regulatory changes in music licensing. Position the company as a leader in the event-venue licensing space.
  • Client Education & Compliance:
    Promote awareness of licensing regulations (copyright, public performance, etc.) and provide complete support to clients for compliance.
  • Reporting & Strategy:
    Provide regular updates to senior management. Generate market analysis, forecast revenue, and refine strategy based on performance metrics.

Key Requirements:

  • Experience: 10+ years in B2B business development, preferably in events, media licensing, hospitality, entertainment, BFSI, FMCG, Durables
  • Leadership: Proven ability to build and scale teams and verticals from scratch.
  • Network: Strong connects in the events, hospitality, and venue management ecosystem is a big plus.
