You will be responsible for applying electrical and mechanical engineering principles to develop professional and cost-effective designs as a part of the team with support from Designer-III and Lead. Your key responsibilities will include: Electrical: - Developing 2D wire harness drawings that conform with customer requirements and industrial drafting standards - Designing hardware fixation components such as brackets, clips, and mounting points using 3D modeling module - Developing wire harness routing designs in 3D to ensure secure routing of harness to corresponding connectors - Creating and understanding schematic drawings Mechanical: - Designing hydraulic systems and selecting hydraulic components and fittings, as well as hydraulic routings using Pro-E Wildfire - Designing structural members, castings, weld fabrications, and welding structural components - Contributing to Mechanical or Electrical integration as a part of Vehicle integration and assembly - Understanding and applying Finite Element Analysis in Mechanical design In order to measure your outcomes, your performance will be evaluated based on: - Customer satisfaction - Adherence to schedule/timelines and SLAs - Number of defects post-delivery and non-compliance issues - Percentage of reduction in the reoccurrence of known defects - Defined productivity standards for projects - Completion of all mandatory training requirements Your expected outputs will include: - Understanding design requirements such as sheet metal design guidelines, stack-up analysis, welding, mining design guidelines, casting knowledge, and large assembly management - Identifying, analyzing, and rectifying drawing errors, technical errors, PLM & PDM errors, and model errors - Creating documentation for your work and maintaining input-output folders - Complying with project-related reporting standards/processes and presenting design review presentations - Creating/modeling procedures, documents, checklists, Model QC, workflows, etc. - Adhering to PLM & PDM processes Requirements gathering: - Understanding inputs, client expectations, and work scope Learning and growth: - Improving domain competency and soft skill competency by attending trainings and webinars Key Skills: - Ability to perform interference checks against top-level assemblies - Ability to create harness drawings - Ability to work in a team environment with strong interpersonal skills - Good written and verbal communication abilities - Proactively seeking help when required - Ability to think analytically and conceptually Knowledge Examples: - Proficiency in appropriate 3D Software Modules, GD&T, Value Analysis-Value Engineering - Knowledge about customer domain and sub-domain - Domain knowledge of Off Highway mining equipment, Electro-mechanical Automotive, Casting, Plastic, Semiconductor, Medical, Aerospace, Heavy machinery - Proficiency in Creo, Cabling, Piping, Sheet metal, AutoCAD, Part modeling, Casting, Drawing, MBA (Model Based Assembly or Paperless drawing) About UST: UST is a global digital transformation solutions provider with a deep domain expertise and a future-proof philosophy.
